Le noyau permanent du band est formé par le duo Ka, au chant et Jeff Rebsamen à la guitare, partageant leur vie en tant qu'époux, mais également autour de leur passion commune pour la musique. Des artistes maralpins confirmés viennent enrichir cette formation et l'on retrouve, collaborant à leurs côtés, le pianiste et organiste Serge Salacroup, les batteurs Tony Cosoleto et Valéry Lacroix et les bassistes Franck Abou et Denis Fuentes.
En line-up, à l'occasion de ce live, il y avait Denis Fuentes, à la basse et Laurent Batteur à la batterie. La scène du restaurant trop exiguë n'a pas permis d'accueillir un clavier.
Nous avons assisté à un live haut en musique et en émotion, avec l'interprétation de 31 chansons dont 8 titres issus de leur album 'One upon a time' et 23 reprises de compositeurs aussi prestigieux que Lucky Peterson, B. B. King ou Muddy Waters. Nous voilà plongés en plein coeur du blues, électrisés par la magie que cette musique exerce sur nous, car il s'agit bien de cela avec Ka & The Blue Devils. L'enchanteresse, c'est Ka. Sa puissance vocale et son timbre unique vous aiguillonnent et vous happent, vous ensorcelant grâce à un philtre efficace, alliant vibrations, inflexions, un groove incroyable et une capacité à susciter de l'émotion au-delà de sa seule voix, par un engagement total de sa personne sur la scène. Elle est là, présente, affirmant l'étendue de son talent. Je reste subjuguée par sa performance qui lui permet d'aligner 31 titres avec justesse et force, et par cette complicité qu'elle crée avec son public qui compte de nombreux fans, sans oublier la connivence évidente, qu'elle affiche durant le live, avec Jeff. Les solos de guitare sont exécutés avec finesse et feeling et la rythmique est parfaitement maîtrisée, délivrant des mélodies débridées et énergiques sur lesquelles les danseurs se démèneront ou empreintes de tristesse et d'espoir. Nous aurons plaisir à écouter leurs propres compositions telles que 'Freedom', un blues rock dynamique et attachant, 'Dey Story', original et inspiré, qui intègre des mélopées amérindiennes (interprétées en duo par Ka et Jeff), ou encore le sublime et touchant 'My Name Is George Stinney', hommage bouleversant à ce jeune afro-américain, accusé à tort de meurtre à l'âge de 17 ans en 1949, condamné à la chaise électrique et réhabilité 70 ans plus tard. Je ne peux m'empêcher de ressentir des frissons parcourir la surface de ma peau lorsque je l'entends.

Leur album a été et est diffusé sur des radios françaises, mais également à l'international et vous l'aurez compris Ka & The Blue Devils est taillé pour les grandes scènes. Leur travail commence à porter ses fruits puisque le band sera à l'affiche du Festival de blues d'Availles, le 5 juin 2022.

The permanent core of the band is formed by the duo Ka and Jeff, sharing their life as husband and wife, but also around their common passion for music. Confirmed artists from Marrakech enrich this formation and we find, collaborating with them, the pianist and organist Serge Salacroup, the drummers Tony Cosoleto and Valéry Lacroix and the bassists Franck Abou and Denis Fuentes.
In line-up, on the occasion of this live, there was Denis Fuentes, on bass and Laurent Batteur on drums. The stage of the restaurant too exiguous did not allow to welcome a keyboard.
We attended a live high in music and emotion, with the interpretation of 31 songs including 8 titles from their album 'One upon a time' and 23 covers of composers as prestigious as Lucky Peterson, B. B. King or Muddy Waters. We are plunged in the heart of the blues, electrified by the magic that this music exerts on us, because it is indeed that with Ka & The Blue Devils. The enchantress is Ka. Her vocal power and her unique timbre spur you on and grab you, bewitching you thanks to an effective potion, combining vibrations, inflections, an incredible groove and an ability to arouse emotion beyond her voice alone, by a total commitment of her person on the stage. She is there, present, affirming the extent of her talent. I remain subjugated by her performance which allows her to align 31 titles with accuracy and strength, and by this complicity that she creates with her public which counts many fans, without forgetting the obvious connivance, that she displays during the live, with Jeff. The guitar solos are executed with finesse and feeling and the rhythmic is perfectly mastered, delivering unbridled and energetic melodies on which the dancers will struggle or marked by sadness and hope. We will enjoy listening to their own compositions such as 'Freedom', a dynamic and engaging blues rock, 'Dey Story', original and inspired, which integrates Native American melodies (performed as a duet by Ka and Jeff), or the sublime and touching 'My Name Is George Stinney', a moving tribute to this young Afro-American, falsely accused of murder at the age of 17 in 1949, condemned to the electric chair and pardoned 70 years later. I can't help but feel chills run down my skin when I hear it.

Their album has been and is being played on French radios, but also internationally and you will have understood that Ka & The Blue Devils is cut out for the big stages. Their work is beginning to bear fruit since the band will be on the bill of the Availles Blues Festival, on June 5, 2022.
