Un des membres de la fameuse NWOBHM, qui n'a jamais eu le succès de ses pairs comme MAIDEN ou SAXON est de retour aux affaires depuis sa signature chez Mighty Records en 2016. Et le moins qu'on puisse dire c'est que le groupe n'a pas chômé : ce sera le 7e album qui sera proposé le 5 mai.

Du groupe originel ne reste que Robb WEIR qui est néanmoins l'âme du groupe et qui a su s'entourer de musiciens collant à l'esprit TYGERS. Du premier album "Crazy Cat" à celui ci, les compositions ont évolué du metal à l'énergie punk au hard rock racé avec la période John SYKES / Rob DEVERILL en passant par un "pas très "heureux passage au FM ( avec l'album "The Cage). Le groupe semblait perdu puis cette signature lui a remis un coup de boost. Le groupe s'est remis à tourner et les albums se sont enchaînés.

De cette nouvelle mouture ( deux nouveaux membres : Huw & Francesco, respectivement bassiste et guitarist), on peut dire que le groupe a trouvé sa formule: les titres rageurs côtoient les titres plus recherchés, tout en gardant cette énergie brute qui est la marque de fabrique du groupe. Quelques morceaux seront à coup sûr des hymnes sur scène tel "Back For Good" , imparable. Basse groovy, riff accrocheur, chorus, refrain que vos ne pourrez pas reprendre en choeur, "In My Blood", un titre caractéristique du style TYGERS, mid tempo,gimmick de guitare, solos mélodiques des deux protagonistes ( Francesco a un jeu plus "moderne" car il intègre le shred), Du "speed" avec "Fire On The Horizon", typique 80's, "Light Of Hope", un exemple parfait du mix entre metal des 80's et celui du 21 e siècle .

Une ballade "Taste Of Love" , un exercice auquel le groupe semble prendre goût. Un dernier morceau heavy et mélodique, un nouveau style pour le groupe (c'est vrai qu'ayant connu le groupe dès les premiers albums, j'ai cette référence toujours en tête) et le moins qu'on puisse dire est qu'il s'en sort très bien.

Ce nouvel opus du groupe montre l'étendue de son talent, il arrive à conjuguer ses racines 80's tout en apportant une touche de modernité dans la composition des morceaux. Il est à noter que l'apport de Francesco MARRAS à la guitare avec son style de jeu est un plus indéniable pour le groupe. Qui a toujours su repérer les talents . Le chant de Jacobo MEILLE est au top, apportant une puissance supplémentaire aux chansons, la production est plus que réussie : avec ce "Bloodlines", on ne s'ennuie pas un moment, où comment jouer avec ses racines 80's tout en proposant un album moderne.

Jacobo MEILLE's vocals are at the top, bringing an extra power to the songs, the production is more than successful: with this "Bloodlines", one is not bored for a moment, or how to play with its 80's roots while offering a modern album.
