Salut tout le monde, c’est Äxxl et Loz du groupe b.o.s.c.h. pour répondre aux questions !1) Est-ce que vous pourriez présenter un peu le groupe et les membres ?
Äxxl : b.o.s.c.h. est un groupe allemand d’Industrial Metal originaire de Wilhelmshaven, au Nord de l’Allemagne. Les quatre membres sont : Max au chant, Äxxl à la basse, Ledde à la guitare et Loz à la batterie et à la programmation. Notre nouvel album, « Fleischwolf », est sorti le 13 octobre et c’est le troisième album du groupe. Le deuxième était « apparat » (2013) et le premier « einsam » en 2010.
2) Pourquoi avez-vous choisi de vous appelez b.o.s.c.h. ?
Loz : Nous voulions un nom court, en allemand et mondialement connu pour le groupe, et tout le monde connait Bosch pour leurs outils et leurs machines. Donc nous avons seulement mis des points entre les lettres et voilà un nom.
3) N’est-ce pas difficile d’être un jeune groupe d’Industrial Metal puisque ce genre musical est dominé par des groupes comme Rammstein ou Oompf ! en Europe et Ministry ou Static-X aux Etats-Unis par exemple ?
Loz : Et bien je pense que chaque genre a ses groupes dominants mais ce n’est pas un problème parce que nous ne nous concentrions pas sur un genre précis quand nous avons commencé. Ce n’est pas important si les gens nous classent dans un style musical parce qu’au fond, on fait juste la musique qui nous plait. A mon avis, notre musique est différente de Rammstein et Oomph ! parce que c’est plus violent, plus lourd, plus rapide et plus proche du Hardcore allemand avec le chant et les samples.
4) Quelles sont les différences majeures entre l’Industrial Metal européen et américain ?
Äxxl : (rire) La langue ! Mais sérieusement, la majorité des groupes en Europe/Allemagne se retrouvent à jouer des choses qui ressemblent à Rammstein. Les paroles sont en allemand, donc c’est une vraie différence. La première fois que j’ai écouté des groupes américains, c’était CLAWFINGER. C’était une vraie expérience et ça m’a motivé à écrire des chansons.
5) Est-ce que ces groupes vous inspirent ou est-ce que vous préférez créer quelque chose de nouveau avec vos propres références artistiques ?
Loz : Nous nous inspirons de beaucoup de groupes de genres différents. Chaque membre du groupe a ses préférences, du Hip Hop au Grindcore et ces styles influencent forcément notre musique. Mais au final, nous avons notre propre son que nous avons développé et nourri au fil des années.
6) On peut sentir des influences gothiques dans votre musique, est-ce que c’est un genre musical et une atmosphère qui sont importantes pour vous ?
Äxxl : Non, je pense que quand tu rejoins la scène Indus, tu deviens aussi automatiquement un membre de la scène Goth. On ne voit pas beaucoup de fans gothiques à nos concerts, c’est plutôt le contraire d’ailleurs. Nous aimons tous nos fans et ceux qui aiment notre musique sont toujours les bienvenus à nos concerts et événements. Donc je dirais que c’est principalement parce qu’on est habillé en noir.
7) Votre troisième album est sorti ce mois-ci, comment vous sentez-vous à ce sujet ?
Äxxl : Super bien et fier. Ça représente quatre ans de sang, de sueur et de larmes et, bien spur, beaucoup de travail depuis la sorti de l’album précédent, « apparat ». Nous sommes sur un nouveau label, Laute Helden/SPV. C’est un vrai plaisir de travailler avec eux et nous espérons pouvoir continuer dans les années à venir.
8) Les paroles de vos chansons sont majoritairement en allemand, est-ce important pour vous de ne pas chanter en anglais ?
Loz : Oui. Nous sommes sûrs de mieux nous exprimer dans notre propre langue et les sons durs de la langue allemands sont vraiment adaptés à notre musique. Ça nous offre la possibilité d’utilisé le langage de la rue (« slang ») dans nos paroles, ce qui fonctionne bien mieux que si on essayait de traduire nos paroles dans une autre langue.
9) Sur les chansons « Fleischwolf » et « Macht », vous utilisez des breaks qui m’ont fait penser à des chansons Metalcore, c’était volontaire ? Est-ce que vous écoutez du Metalcore ?
Äxxl : Notre musique provient de beaucoup de genres musicaux très différents et le Metalcore en fait évidement parti mais ce n’était pas vraiment volontaire. Je pense que nous avons trouvé notre voie dans l’Industrial Metal. C’est aussi très important pour nous que nos paroles sonnent de la façon dont nous voulons qu’elles sonnent.
10) Pourquoi avez-vous choisi de faire un clip pour la chanson « Shock » et comment s’est passé le tournage ?
Loz : Nous avons pensé que « Shock » était le meilleur morceau pour présenter b.o.s.c.h. aux gens, pour leur offrir un premier aperçu de notre musique. Ce titre contient tous les éléments qui nous constituent. De plus, nous avons eu la possibilité de tourner le clip dans un hôpital, ce qui correspond tout à fait au thème de la chanson puisque les paroles sont sur l’anxiété et la dépression.
11) Qui compose les chansons habituellement ? Comment fonctionne l’écriture des chansons dans le groupe ?
Loz : Nous nous occupons d’abord de la musique. Normalement, l’un de nous a une idée et nous travaillons dessus tous ensemble en studio. Une fois que la musique est prête, on s’attaque aux paroles. Et ça fonctionne un peu de la même façon : l’un de nous a une idée, ou un petit texte déjà prêt, et on se réunit pour travailler dessus. C’est plutôt un moment sympa parce qu’on est un peu fous (rire) !
12) Vous êtes un groupe relativement jeune mais avez-vous remarqué des évolutions entre votre premier album et le dernier ? Je veux dire dans la façon dont vous les composez, les enregistrez ou n’importe quoi d’autre que vous auriez remarqué.
Loz : Oh nous ne sommes plus un jeune groupe. Le projet existe depuis un bon nombre d’années maintenant. Bien sûr, nous essayions d’aller aussi loin que nous le pouvons, jusqu’au limites de chaque album, et d’explorer de nouvelles façons d’écrire des chansons et de les produire. Je pense aussi qu’on est devenu meilleur musicalement et sur les paroles. Les chansons sont plus concentrées et les paroles plus centrées sur un point précis. Pendant la production, on voulait un son qui se rapproche du son qu’on a en live, et on est ravi du résultat.
13) Maintenant, parlons un peu de l’histoire du groupe, comment vous-êtes vous rencontrés et pourquoi avez-vous décidé de devenir un groupe professionnel ?
Loz : Notre ville natale, Wilhelmshaven, n’est pas très grande et nous nous connaissons tous depuis un sacré moment, avant que b.o.s.c.h. ne soit créé. Nous avions tous d’autres groupes et b.o.s.c.h. était un side-project que j’ai monté pour faire des essais avec des sons électroniques uniquement pour moi. Plus tard, b.o.s.c.h. est devenu un duo avec une guitare et des samples, puis c’est devenu un groupe complet et notre projet principal. Après plusieurs changements internes, nous avons trouvé le line-up actuel et on continue de bâtir notre univers.
14) D’ailleurs, est-ce que le groupe est votre travail principal ou est-ce que vous avez un autre travail en dehors de b.o.s.c.h. ?
Äxxl : Ce serait génial ! (rire) Mais non, nous avons tous un travail honnête en dehors du groupe. Nous travaillons dans des endroits très différents donc on peut utiliser des éléments de nos vies quotidiennes dans le groupe.
15) Sur votre page Facebook, vous postez surtout des messages en allemand et vous n’avez pas beaucoup tourné dans le reste de l’Europe, est-ce que vous préférez ce lien spécial avec vos fans allemands ou est-ce que vous aimeriez devenir un groupe plus connu ?
Äxxl : Ah oui, tu as raison ! Puisque la majorité de nos fans sont ici, en Allemagne, nous aimons leur écrire en allemand. Mais c’est promis, quand on pourra faire une tournée en Europe, on changera ça pour toucher le plus grand nombre possible de nos fans à travers le monde.
16) Est-ce qu’on peut espérer vous voir sur scène en France un jour ?
Äxxl : Ce n’est pas un de nos projets pour le moment. Mais si on arrive à organiser ça un jour, on le fera pour nos fans français
17) Si je vous demande de nous raconter votre meilleur souvenir avec le groupe, qu’est-ce que c’est ?
Äxxl : Oh c’est facile ! C’est de jouer dans ce groupe. Tous les concerts et toutes les répétitions sont de super souvenirs parce que jouer de la musique est la meilleure chose possible. En tous cas, c’est mon opinion.
18) Votre dernier album, « Fleischwolf », est sorti il y a quelques jours mais quels sont vos projets pour l’avenir ?
Äxxl : Pour le moment, on est en tournée en Allemagne avec STAHLMANN. Cet automne et cet hiver, nous avons cinq autres concerts de prévu et au printemps, on repart pour une dizaine de concert toujours avec eux. Nous avons aussi d’autres propositions de tournée. La meilleure chose dont on puisse rêver est d’avoir une tournée dont nous serions le groupe principal. Pour le moment, on attend de voir comment les gens réagissent à « Fleischwolf », notre nouvel album.
19) En tant que groupe, quel est votre plus grand rêve ? Tourner avec un groupe donc vous êtes fan ? Tourner dans un pays où vous n’êtes jamais allés ? Ou n’importe quoi d’autre ?
Loz : Un de nos plus grands rêves est de jouer dans les plus gros festivals en Allemagne et dans le reste du monde. Il y a beaucoup de groupes avec lesquels ont aimerait tourner, si on en a la possibilité. Le groupe qui me fait rêver c’est clairement Die Krupps, j’adorerais tourner avec eux.
20) On vous laisse conclure.
Äxxl : « Lauter – Tiefer – Härter ». C’est notre slogan en allemand et ça veut dire : « Plus lourd – Plus profond – Plus dur ». On espère vous voir pendant nos concerts de 2017 et 2018 !

Äxxl: b.o.s.c.h. is a German Industrial Metal Band from Wilhelmshaven, North Germany. The 4 members are:

Äxxl – Bass

Loz – Drums and Programming“
We have released our new Album “Fleischwolf“ on October, 13th and it's the third Album from b.o.s.c.h. The second was “apparat“ (2013) and the first “einsam“ (2010).
2) Why did you choose “b.o.s.c.h.” as bandname?
Loz: We wanted to have a short, German and worldwide known name for the band and everybody knows Bosch for their tools and machines. So we put some points between the letters and here we are.
3) Isn’t it too hard to be a young band playing Industrial Metal since this genre is dominated by bands such as Rammstein or Oompf! in Europe and Ministry or Static-X in the US, for example?
Loz: Well, I think every genre has it‘s dominating bands but that‘s no problem, because we didn‘t focus on a special genre when we started. It doesn‘t really matter, if people put us into a special genre, because we just make the music we want to. In my opinion our sound is much different from Rammstein and Oomph!, because it‘s harder, faster and more kind of hardcore with German vocals and samples.
4) Do you see any differences between the European Industrial Metal and the American Industrial Metal?
Äxxl: Haha, the language! But seriously, most bands in Europe/Germany find their way to play like Rammstein. The lyrics are in German, so that's different. My first contact with American Bands was CLAWFINGER, that was a great experience and good motivation for writing songs.
5) Do you get some inspirations from this sort of bands or are you trying to create something else with your own artistic references?
Loz: We got inspirated by a lot of bands from all kind of genres. Every bandmember has it‘s favorite bands from Hip Hop to Grindcore and all these styles have an influence on our music. But in the end we have our own sound, which we have been developing over the years.
6) We feel some strong Gothic influences in your music, is it a musical genre and an atmosphere which are important for you?
Äxxl: No, I think when you move into the industrial metal genre, you automatically become part of the Gothic scene. We don’t see many Gothic fans at our concerts, quite the opposite, we appreciate all our fans and all who enjoy our music are always welcome at our live events. It's probably because we always wear black.
7) You released your third album this month, how do you feel about it?
Äxxl: Great and proud. 4 years of blood, sweat and tears, and of course lots of hard work since we release the last album “apparat“. We have a new Label, Laute Helden/SPV. It's a great pleasure to work with these people and we hope we can work together for many years to come.
8) The lyrics are mostly in German, is it important for you not to sing in English?
Loz: Yes. We are sure that you can express yourself better in your own language and that the hard sound of German language really fits to our music. We are able to put a lot of street language (slang) to our lyrics, which works a lot better than trying to translate it into a foreign language.
9) On the songs “Fleischwolf” and “Macht”, there are some breaks which made me think of Metalcore songs, was it a choice? Do you listen to Metalcore?
Äxxl: Our music is moulded from lots of different music genres and of course Metalcore too, but it was not an actual decision. I think we have found our way in Industrial Metal. It is also very important for us that our lyrics come across in the way we intend them to.
10) Why did you chose to release a clip for the song “Shock” and how was the shooting?
Loz: We thought that “Schock” would present the sound of b.o.s.c.h. best to people, who hear us for the first time. It contains all the elements which b.o.s.c.h. stands for. Furthermore we had the possibility to shoot the video in a hospital and that fitted perfectly to the theme of the song, where the lyrics tell us about anxiety and depression.
11) Who usually composes the songs? How does your musical writing process work?
Loz: First of all we have the music. Normally one of us has an idea on which we work together in our studio. After the music is ready, we work on the lyrics. This process is quite similar. One of us has an idea or a simple text and we come together and work it out. This is often very funny, cause we‘re all a little crazy in our minds, LOL!
12) You’re quite a young band but did you already notice some evolutions between your first album and the last one? I mean in the way you composed the songs, or the recording, or anything else…
Loz: Oh, we‘re not so young as a band anymore. The project exists for a lot of years now. Of course we try to push ourselves to the limit on every album and try to explore new ways in songwriting and production. I think we got better musically and with the lyrics on the new album. The songs are more compact and the lyrics are more focused. About the production, we wanted a sound which comes near to our live sound and we are very happy with it.
13) Now let’s talk a bit about the history of the band, how did you meet each other and why and when did you decide to become a professional band?
Loz: Our hometown Wilhelmshaven is not very big and we known each other for a long time before b.o.s.c.h. came to life. We all had other bands and b.o.s.c.h. was a side project which I created to experiment with electronic sounds for my own. Later b.o.s.c.h. was a two person project with guitar and sampler and then grew to a full band for the first time and to our main project. After some personal changes we found today line up and we started to build things up.
14) By the way, is the band your main job or do you still have another job outside of b.o.s.c.h.?
Äxxl: That would be nice! Haha! No, we all still have to work honest jobs. We all work different jobs and we all bring situations from our daily lives into the band.
15) On your Facebook page, you mostly post messages in German, and you didn’t tour in the rest of Europe so far, do you prefer this sort of special link with your German fans or do you aim at becoming a more famous band?
Äxxl: Yes, you are right! While most of our fans are here in Germany we like to write in German. But we promise when it's possible to tour over Europe we will change that to reach all fans in the world.
16) Can we expect to see you on stage in France one day?
Äxxl: It's not in progress yet. But if we can make it possible we will do that for the French fans.
17) If you had to share the best memory you had with the band, what would it be?
Äxxl: Oh, that's easy. It's to play in this band. All Gigs and practices are great memories, because it's the best thing you can do to play music. That's my opinion.
18) Your last album, “Fleischwolf”, was released a few days ago but what are your plans for the future? Any project in mind?
Äxxl: Now we play some shows with STAHLMANN in Germany. In fall/winter we play 5 shows, and in spring 2018 we'll play another 11 shows with them. And we have also had other options for touring. The best thing we could hope for would be our very own headlining tour. Now we need to wait for the reaction to our latest album “Fleischwolf”.
19) As a band what is your biggest dream, like touring with a band you’re totally fan of in a country you’ve never ever been to? Or anything else?
Loz: One of our biggest dreams is to play some of the bigger festivals in Germany and of course shows in other countries. There are a lot of bands we want to tour with, if there would be the possibility sometime. My personal dream band to tour with would definitely be Die Krupps.
20) The last words are yours to conclude.
Äxxl: Lauter – Tiefer – Härter. Thats is our b.o.s.c.h. Slogan/Motto in German. It means: Louder – Deeper - Harder - We hope to see you during our 2017/2018 Tour.
